Youth in eclipse ๐ŸŒš

Watching the eclipse via media with an avid 14 years-old teen.

Excitement was rife in his voice. Enchanted, he spoke of his love

Curiosity of nature. Cradling the universe to his heart, with

Limitless time spent pondering, enraptured by nature's miracles

๐ŸŒš

Infused wholly and completely by the workings of our planet

Poised he sat, watching on a screen, regretting being UK bound

๐ŸŒš

Scene by scene, awed explanation of movements of sun and moon

Ending with a perfect eclipse, watched until it faded away!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
๐ŸŒš๐ŸŒš๐ŸŒš
Everything else is of no interest to this teenager
Completely engrossed in the workings of nature
Light in his mind palace is focused and tunnel-visioned
Intent, his grey cells care nothing else of the world
Pictured upon his mind is the wonder of the eclipse
Smiling, we sit patiently and listen, these are the only times
Excitement eclipses him from his teenage reverie!
I was watching a movie, and he passed by, stopping long enough to observe that even though the movie was set in winter, it could not have been that time of year, because the length of the shadows meant that it was filmed in the summer months. He does not watch movies, except to pass by and disprove the facts, point out and laugh at the errors made by the makers of said movies.
He explained the phenomenon, but here is the Google explanation:
Shadows change with the seasons. The tilt of the Earthโ€™s axis affects the length of our shadows. During the summer, our location is tilted towards the Sun, so our midday shadows are very short. During the winter, our location is tilted away from the Sun, so our midday shadows are longer.
If ever in doubt about the workings of the universe, feel free to give him a call. He looks like a young Black Einstein, with crazy hair and all. Bah humbugs a lot like Scrooge, and thinks school is boring.
Eclipse.
    Hey lovely friend! This was beautifully written & wonderfully crafted! Was this about your son? He sounds like he has a brilliant mind like his momma! How did your other teen respond to the eclipse? Also, did you see in the most recent Vocal Creator's Chat that Vocal is considering making a Faith Community?
    Wonderfully told, both the poem and the description of the young Black Einstein. Just the kind of kid I'd love to talk to. ๐Ÿ’™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ’š Cheers to you both.
