I look at you and

Your beauty shines through me

Your eyes searching my soul bared

In the reflection staring back at me

I am able to see the image

Of the way you see me

And in my darkest moments

When the light seems to dim

I simply look within your eyes

And remember who I am

No longer am I

That scared child

That scarred child

From so long ago

No longer am I hiding in the shadows

Simply waiting for the end

You gave me worth

What I thought I'd ne're feel

And as you lay your hands upon me

I know your love is real

I feel it in your touch

The slightest touch of hand

I see it when you look at me

I feel it deep within me

Places no one else can reach

You've taught me many things

You teach me every day

Each smile another lesson

Every tear a separate test

And within the space of every

Heart beat

All the fear, pain, and anger

Fills me less and less

Every breath I take

I fall in love more and more

You've taken away my darkness

Opened up new doors

Our journey together

At times has been hard

The world tests us

Only strengthening our bond

I love you more than anything

Everything

You're my reason to survive

And when you smile at me...

I truly feel alive

I love you more than life itself

For its not living without you near

And though our paths have been rocky

To get us where we are

It makes it all worthwhile

I firmly believe the past has lead us here

And I would gladly do it all again

Just to end up at your side

And if that was the only way

I'll smile through it all

Because I know you will cut through

The darkness

And again your light I'd see

Waiting there to guide me back

From my minds insanity

But the past is done and over with

And by your side, I am

Written for my wife, Michelle. I love you.
