Your Love is My Alarm Clock

Snooze-Proof Love: The Human Alarm Clock Chronicles

By Tale WeaverPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Each morning starts with sweet surprise,

No need for clocks, no need for chimes.

For by my side, with love so bold,

You wake me up—your methods? Cold.

_ _ _

No gentle tones or soft embrace,

You poke my ribs, invade my space.

A flying pillow, a stolen sheet,

Or worst of all—your icy feet!

_ _ _

Sometimes it’s whispers, sometimes it’s screams,

Sometimes it’s "Breakfast!" (I hope that’s not a dream).

You sing off-key, you dance with flair,

You ruffle my hair like you just don’t care.

_ _ _

Yet through the groans, the fights for rest,

I know, my love, that I am blessed.

For every morning, rain or shine,

I wake up knowing—you are mine.

_ _ _

So ring the bells, shake the bed,

Pour cold water on my head.

No matter how you start my day,

I’d have it no other way. ❤️

I love alarm clock love! Great work !

  • such a clever and fitting image—it captures both the gentle awakening and the undeniable pull of someone who holds such a deep place in your life. I loved how the poem explored the connection between two people, not just as an emotional bond but as a force that stirs you to rise and face each day.
