Poor you, poor me, poor everybody.
They say that artists are chased by a “fine madness “. What they don’t say is how to stay ahead of it. There’s a certain seductiveness when it almost catches you. Flirting with the Madness is everything, isn’t it?
Keeping the Beast at bay is an illusion of control. It’s so alluring to abandon all reason and run with the Beast, to tempt chaos and allow it to thrive.
The thing about the Illness is that it’s your best friend, even when it gaslights you, abuses you, and eats at you like a cancer, it’s still your safe place. The Ill is always there to comfort you comfort you, give you excuses, and wrap you up in a cozy blanket of denial.
Help is the Enemy. Help is going to tell you that you can’t be helpless. Help will kill the Madness, the Beast, the Ill. It will make you forget the things that you don’t want to remember.
It’s your life. It’s up to you how you want to live the days that you’ve been given. There’s even a chance that you could grow to love yourself, or at least tolerate yourself.
They say that change comes from within. Take the tumult, the strength that’s inside of you, use them as tools to build your very own life.

I hope that my writing conveys the loneliness and heartbreak that every one of us experiences, and the joy and elation that comes from living through it.
