Your Eyes to Mine

Author's Note: This is dedicated to the love of my life, best friend, better half, soul mate, and the one I want to spend every lifetime with. I hope everyone finds their soul mate like I found mine. This poem is written with a series of haikus, and I hope you'll enjoy.

"My Eyes to Yours"

My first love hurt me

And told me he hated me.

Then you changed my life.

You gave me back hope

When I thought I had none left.

You are my true love.

After everything

I can still remember it.

The day I met you.

We spoke on the phone

Before I got to meet you.

I fell for your voice.

When we got to meet

That was when I met your eyes

And I loved you more.

You knew how I felt.

You made my heart skip a beat.

I was lost for words.

Insecurities

Though you loved me anyway

My love at first sight.

Oh how they sparkled

The day that I saw your eyes

They were full of love.

My heart a flutter

My mind was sent a racing

When I saw those eyes.

So beautiful

Such happiness in those depths

Just to see me there.

I've always loved you

You may have taken a while

But you were worth it.

I'll wait forever

If it means being with you

Always forever.
