Young dad

Is this real

By W. Joe O'BanionPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

21 years old

9 pounds 5 ounces in my arms

Pefect in every single way

Brought forth by a loving wife

22 years old

I watched you babble

You didn't crawl you rolled

Loved like no other

23 years old

You spoke in full sentences

You knew and loved all animals

You walked and spread joy

24 years old

You started preschool

Your baby brother was born

You became the best big sister

25 years old

Your tender heart grew daily

Empathy your moral code

Upset by any injustice

26 years old

Is this real

I didn't know how much love I had

Until you walked in that school

No matter how much you learn and grow

I'll love you forever, I hope you know.
