You Tell Me
Words of love, laced with quiet desperation
By Jara DekkerPublished 6 years ago • 1 min read

You say I’m too flirtatious
my actions misconceived
My true intentions misunderstood
By all those I may meet
You tell me I am guarded
My thoughts deep behind a wall
That I should speak my mind
And share with you my all
You say I am unobserving
Afraid of opportunity
My eyes closed to those around
Because it’s you that I should see
You tell me I am closed
Not willing to be true
To what I really want
Because I should want you
But how can what you say be pure
Be a sovereign invitation
When you utter words of love
Laced with quiet desperation

The results of emotion and experience married to words...
...A soul laid bare.
