You Played Word Games With My Head
Narcissistic personality that’s all you had

You Played Word Games With My Head
You said maybe, but your eyes spelled no
I traced the letters, slow to know
You spoke in riddles, loops, and lies
Each truth you gave had a thin disguise
You said forever, I heard for now
You crossed your heart, then broke your vow
Each pause you placed became a trap
A comma curled into a slap
Your metaphors were sharpened knives
You cut me clean with passive lines
A whispered soon became too late
A joke that dressed itself as fate
You made a pun of every ache
A twist, a turn, a small heartbreak
You played me like a crossword clue
Each hint undone the more I knew
You rhymed control with let it be
Then sighed, “Don’t over-analyse me”
You used italics when you lied
Your silence shouted from the side
And now I speak in tongues you taught
Each word a wound, each thought self-fought
You made my mind a paper sheet
And scratched your puzzles in repeat
I tried to read the thread
but all I got was what you said
And that our ship was sinking fast
i amnow free of you at last.

Very clever, I loved how you wove al the terminology into your story and coupled with your excellent rhyme (as always). 🌝🌝
What a way to say goodbye to an enemy of sorts. Good job.
A sharp poem about decoding lies and breaking free from a manipulative love
beautifully written! Great work.
Deep meaning 🙏
