you only like [the idea of] me.

i hope we both find someone who loves us so much we can feel it.

but we will never have that from each other-

because i am not willing to give autonomy up to exchange for my peace

you keep as hostage, non-proffered.

the deceitful affection you show does not reconcile in my heart.

unbalanced, emotionally wagered,

desperately you bet that i am the one who will be the one to save you,

but i say, 'that is not who i am.'

because you insisted i give everything, all i will is not what you want.

I DON'T NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS.

if it was who i am that you want, you wouldn't try to change-a-ho; that is,

you only like [the idea of] me.

it's a flattering sentiment, but the idea doesn't match the real me.

it's not right, but that's okay.
