You, In All the Quiet Things
A Love Poem for the Moments That Speak Softest

I’ve found you in the quiet things
In drifting smoke, in birdless wings,
In pages left with coffee stains
In sudden sun after soft rains.
You weren’t a fire set to blaze,
But warmth that stayed through colder days.
Not lightning striking from the blue,
But every sky that held the hue.
I’ve loved you not in wild displays,
But in the hush of ordinary days.
The way you speak without a sound,
In glances where my world is found.
You are the pause, the breath between
The part of life that can’t be seen.
Not written loud, but softly penned:
A lover, soulmate, touch, and friend.
So if the stars all turned to dust,
And time erased the things we trust,
Still, I would know you—heart and skin
In all the quiet things within.
