You Hated My Poetry

You hated my poetry so I chose you.

Now you’re gone and my poetry can start a new.

How ever, even the sad poems are not about me and you.

You called my words strange, my verses too deep,

Laughed at the way they made others weep.

So I held them in, afraid to be seen.

Let my pages stay empty, my meanings in between.

So now that you’re gone, the silence is clear,

No voice in my head, no judgment, no sneer.

And though I still write of sorrow and pain,

It’s not about you, you’re not in the frame.

I write of shadows, of nights that I knew,

Of hearts that broke, and skies that stayed blue.

The ink may run, the truth may sting,

But not a line is yours—not a single thing.

I made it, yes me people like my poetry

had I stayed with you, my dream couldn’t be.

now a poet we’ll know, my poetry brings love.

not one lines about you, I thank god above.

I always read and liked your poetry. You know the young people had a saying here in the US - haters are going to hate. But the people who appreciate poetry will always like yours Marie. Keep writing!!!Nicely Done!!!
