Eyes closed, I more clearly see your outline

And like a flower to the sun turns

My smile, without conscious intent, appears

and it’s intensity burns

Images reddened by the blood of my lids

And hot, but not too much to bear

Made aware of the turning of the earth

placing perspective on all cares

How long is too long to stay?

Time slips and light pervades

eyes closed body open,

alone but not, held safe in this space.

Clouds do come, and then the chill

But with eyes open , your smile shines still.
