I hear you in the other room

I hear you hating me

I can feel your anger

Your sorrow

Fear.

I hear you in that other room

But silence is not good

Silence sounds like screaming, like

Your bright orange lightning

Cutting into my rainy sky.

I can feel you like you feel me

You can sense most anything except my

Face,

My real face,

My real eyes

And me.

I can see you in another place,

Harboring your X’s and O’s

For someone else

While for me,

You just drew this wide line

Across my face

And x and o’s in your eyes

For a fake story

Where the line you drew over my eyes

And my mouth

And right through my loyal, pining, knee slipping, ardent, stupid, trusting, dirty, passionate

One sided look

Can be just a fairy tale

And not the facts in our personal history lesson

Of always being in separate rooms(even when we’re right next to each other),

But we can always feel

Each other’s look.

heartbreak
