You don’t intimidate me

I don’t care that you’re a supervisor,

or that you make more money than me.

That doesn’t give you the right

to talk down to me,

to throw attitude like you’re better.

Every time you eye me up and down,

I have to bite my tongue

just to stay quiet.

You’re not better.

You’re just louder.

I’m here to work,

not to be disrespected.

And no title you have

will ever change that.

    It is irrelevant which profession you pursue, as it serves as your means of livelihood. Moreover, if you are in control, your heart can follow its desires, and your life need not be dictated by others.
