You cannot read loss; you can only feel it.
When your heart breaks in two
and your world falls apart,
when equilibrium becomes disequilibrium,
unstable and unsure.
You cannot read loss; you can only feel it.
When your spirit’s broken
and your dreams are shattered,
when life cannot be restored to
how it was before.
You cannot read loss; you can only feel it.
When the heart pains, the spirit’s crushed
and the soul hurts beyond repair.
When words aren’t spilt, and eyes don’t cry,
when lips smile and say “I’m all alright.”

It's Tuesday 7:13 a.m. A cold and clear November morning awaits Ray on his morning commute. Ray rubs his hands together in the front seat of his Subaru.
