gazing in to the(o)eyes(o) of the watcher

the sands of time for the reflection(noitcelfni)

the(pain)blood in my(drain)veins, the stains of my names

rip/rip/rip the glossy facade

tear-tear-tear the sparkling (veil)

if I could reach out

reach out and pull out

pull out from the strands of my own time stream

to help him understand he's not a lone

he's not on his own

sometimes

we think too much about our mistakes and focus on the mistakes

rather than the lessons we learned from those mistakes

sometimes, we feel too much about our mistakes

and aside from the shame and the guilt

we don't mourn the passing, and then move on

sometimes

we don't sing our own praises, no matter the grievances,

we don't look past and ahead

we wallow, and swallow the bitter truth

without soothing it with the memory

we are fallible and capable

of both dark and light

wrong and right

dull and bright

the worst and the best

we are not our mistakes

Very relatable man…loved this part especially “we don't sing our own praises, no matter the grievances, we don't look past and ahead we wallow, and swallow the bitter truth without soothing it with the memory we are fallible and capable of both dark and light”… Why do we all do this to ourselves…I know the lessons (or so I thought) then I’m right back at the beginning wanting to undo things. Acceptance can be hard work. Excellent poem, but I could not spell this backward “noitcelfni”. Help?!

Great poem thing! Once again struck by the clever and charming formatting choices that give so much character

  • Well-wrought! Conscience is a diagnostic program, and a very useful one, but all too often we nullify it by applying it to needless self-torment...

Imagine if we focused on the lessons, not the recrimination!
