Here we are on the edge of today

You and me

Barely keeping the dogs at bay

It's flesh they want and we're their prey

You and me

Leaving only our tracks in the clay

Tomorrow is here, yesterday gone

You and me

Moving fast to beat the dawn

Hand-in-hand, two loving cons

You and me

That much I'm sure, conclusion foregone

These days we have, they all look the same

You and me

Struggling with who we became

Love and hate fanning the flame

You and me

Fast asleep, the dogs barking our names

Soon one of these days will be our last

You and me

Did we live wrong? Live too fast?

Never mind, sorry I asked

You and me

Our turn to feed the hounds of our past
