Yet another poem inspired by Charles Bukowski

Haven't we all had these types of instances in life?

So this girl calls me

and we were supposed to be going out that night

but she is drunk and calling from this other guy's place

where she has spent the previous night with him and most of

the current day

the guy has passed out

and she keeps telling me how terrible she is for what she

has just done

and how guilty she feels about it

and I just keep making sarcastic remarks

which only causes her to laugh in that exaggerated drunken

manner

and she says please don't make me laugh

I'll wake him up

at which point I tell her I have to go

and we hang up

And I never see her again

*

Years later she told someone it was

Charles Bukowski

at least that's the name

he gave her

sad poetry
