Yellow Glow

First seen at a Broadway’ Lion King show

By Adam ToneyPublished 5 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read

For years I didn’t believe

That one can cry because of joy

Being happy doesn’t make you cry

Especially not if you’re a boy

But what it really was for me

Was something a bit more tragic

I had never actually felt real joy

So when I did it sparked my belief in magic

Overwhelming, soul rewarding

I could feel my hope restoring

With waterfalls from my eyes just pouring

A yellow glow encompassing a lion, roaring

And that glow breathed air into my rainbow life

Something I thought would only destroy

The pain it caused to hide myself

Began to ease after feeling love from a boy
