Yellow As

B.A.

By B.A HathorPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Yellow as the ripened lemon, fallen from the tree. Reminding me to be grounded in my presence, as I become more grateful for the present.

Yellow as the canary bird’s breast, each feather a different hue of yellow but beautiful all the same. How, I wish I saw myself as I see the canary.

Yellow as a fresh bloomed tulip in spring. It’s petals colorful, plump and voluptuous with life. Letting me know even Mother Nature likes a little thickness in her life.

Yellow as a hummingbird wing, fast in movement, precise with destination. It’s movement rhythmic with time. Moving quickly and for the most part unseen. Just as my arrival has been.

Yellow as the star in the coloring book, filled in to look as imagined. As I have spent most of my life filling in what I imagined I could be.

Yellow as the cowardly solider who runs from battle. I however understand the soldier’s fear. Where I may succeed, I may also fail, so I run.

Yellow as the seeping of an infected wound, that just cannot seem to heal. My infected wound is called my heart.

Yellow as dandelion salve, soothing, restoring, natural. It’s what I would use if souls used salves.

Yellow as the rising sands of the desert, creating rise after rise of gritty waves. Reminding me that not everything beautiful will be created in the best environment.

Yellow as the universe I have compared myself to because sometimes underrated creations need seen too.
