Y, Z, A

Music always reflects and shapes the generation that listens to it.

They don't like rock and roll

They don't understand it

The new generations

Constantly plugged in

Tuned in and tuned out

With earbuds, airpods, and headphones

Don't even rock out to hip hop

Or groove to R+B

They listen to music

Where I can't identify a single instrument

Maybe a drum

You can't hum it

It's all modulated

From vocals to effects

As canned and uniform as Spam

It soothes

Going hand in hand

With their meds

Adjusting their lives and moods

Since well before puberty

Altering reality

Creating a happy world

That is in itself sad.
