Writing in The Dark

Empty Bank

By Keith McHughPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
We Are Not Alone

Trapped within misery,

Decomposing my body,

Exposing the energy,

Coursing through me.

It's full of negativity,

Feels like a train just hit me,

Adding pain to my misery,

Gaining exponentially,

Trapped where I can't see.

It's taking control of me,

I don't want to even be,

Stuck within a society,

Endlessly reaching for money.

Stepping over somebody in need,

Because you have a family to feed,

Achieving what you believe,

The best you can conceive.

Rightfully in your heart,

You play the whole part,

Doing your best playing it smart,

The world is still falling apart.

As we start work on time,

Earning dime after dime,

Gathering a treasure,

That won't be there,

When it comes time to share,

What's truly out there.
