Write a Top Story

As I sit and read story after story set before me,

I wonder how the authors are and consider what I see.

For some are laborious and tedious to discern,

But no matter the pages are filled making me concerned.

Top Stories is a treasure, a coveted title it’s true,

But one must remain conscience with honesty true blue.

To be selected from the thousands of entries daily,

Makes one shout and sing and dance around gaily.

Well, it did for me anyway as I remember the time,

When out of the blue a poem was picked for its rhyme.

There are many categories, whimsical and poetic,

But no matter the ideas, whether written hectically.

So continue to write, that’s the idea after all,

To think, to create, to share, not dropping the ball.

For it’s far better to have tried to share your soul,

Than to let things fester, so let’s all become bold.

Write your story, your poem, your piece,

Bring out the best in you, never let it cease.

For to become a part of a greater whole,

Allows each of us to write uncensored and bold.
