Write This Down

I’ve Gotta get them out,

get these thoughts put down on paper.

I need to keep them straight,

-say it, so that you understand.

Nothing in life is impossible .

Write that down!

If I have anything to tell you,

something I could say,

worthy of you remembering,

Here it is;

Strength and wisdom are derived through pain

Not sweet, romantic fantasies

washed in the delicate hues of spring

Not soft and gentle pinks and weathered grays

Its a hard, harsh, hazardous pathway-straight through the depths of hell.

It’s forged with sweat and tears along the way

Victories from struggling, slathered in dark reds and shadowy blacks

Rewarded in bright blues, yellows and golds.

learning to appreciate what you have accomplished

And celebrate the scars there on your back

Wear your colors boldly

Be proud of who you are

Don’t measure your success to someone else

Lend a helping hand,

remember where you’ve been

Keep pushing on and always be yourself

It’s one day at a time

One foot and then the other

Shine your sweet colors full of hope and light

Live your life with purpose

Always helping always hoping

Teaching others with your laughter, love and pride
