Wrapped in a Breath for Just a Moment
A Soft Poem
paint me orange
dip me in butter
tuck gently in puff pastry
roll my warm like croissant
it is time to slow down
slow
down
your
mind,
your
breath,
your
body,
is in constant motion and stress
feeling like mole hills are mountains that we'll never surpass
like twister-turned-tornado-turned-hurricane
and the rain just won't let up
but
close your eyes for just a moment (so you can keep reading after of course)
when you open, do so with more than just your eyes
drink in your surroundings
the curve of windowpane
the softness of table surface
taste the smell of home on your tongue
listen to the way the sunrays cast across tiled floors
inhale
exhale
the world can wait a moment
don't worry, it will wait for you
but so will all these soft moments that you can
always
return
