Some nights, to be okay, you play pretend

But, take the mask off

Feel the ache. Try to understand it

The more you suppress it

The more it will grow

When the tears stop flowing

Give yourself a hug

Pat your back

It seems silly, I know

But I do it. It helps

I wipe my tears. I hold myself

I feel the softness of my blanket
