Wonderland: What of the Future?
Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 30
Wonderland is meant to be happy,
Like Graceland on steroids.
A mad hatter’s tea party,
A half-mad bar,
Wonderland is meant to be happy.
Wonderland, a place of magic and marvel
Where nothing makes sense on its own.
A giggle and a laugh to which we are all partial,
It should never be left to its own,
Yes, Wonderland is a place of magic and marvel.
Wonder land, now what of the future?
A curious question to ask?
But no one has any answers to what we have done so far
What we have done to this great land?
We just wonder, “What is the future?”
I wonder land?
[Author's note: Maybe a slightly different take on Wonderland. The first thing that came to mind was separating the word into a question: "Wonder land?" The rest is in the poem. I almost wrote a free verse poem, but nope! It's got to have rhyme somewhere.]

All the lines here were beautiful. I like the conversational aspects of it, how whimsical it felt just by the use of the word ‘wonderland’ and ‘marvel’. But the thing that really got me, was that last line. If it wasn’t there, it would not have given me this look of satisfaction. It was such a perfect bow and ending. Masterfully done Calvin! 👌🏽♥️
