I wondered as I wandered.. where I'd find wonderland these days
seems my wonder for wander has all run away
The tea cups and wild rabbits have been corralled and caged
and I found myself lost in some mystical maze
Caught in a mist, in some magical haze
that blew in from the west, from a nude beach in LA
Where the hares and the hairless procured all the awe
stole the shock and the splendor and locked it up in a vault
The kings helped the queens find their crowns, down on vine
and reminded the rabbits the importance of time
And somewhere in the mayhem, my wonder appeared
on the backs of wild rabbits and hares wearing beards
I smiled as it hit me, it had been there the whole time
the magic of wonder, wandered in on my rhymes

Hahaha I love your take and this poem. Hares and hairless and nude beach in LA Great job❤️
Nice job, Kelli. I especially like these lines: "that blew in from the west, from a nude beach in LA Where the hares and the hairless procured all the awe" My interpretation made me smile. 😉😉
Alice grew up. Her wonder remains.
Quite the visual image of discovery. This flowed with such beauty complimenting the challenge. I want to ask the same thing Cathy did, what magical prescription did you add to your tea.
Funny how the very we're looking for is often right there all along. Some great imagery here, my friend. I would ask if you were high, but considering I've written about cod fish in bowties and a unicorn falling out of my ass, I should probably not. 🤪
This piece has some interesting imagery. The idea of wonder being corralled and then showing up on wild rabbits' backs is cool. Made me think about how we sometimes lose that sense of wonder in the chaos of life. Do you think it's easier to recapture wonder as an adult or a kid? I like how it plays with words like "wonder" and "wander." It creates a sort of dreamy, almost surreal atmosphere. Have you ever had a moment where you suddenly rediscovered wonder in an unexpected place?
I love this line: I have been there the whole time. Reality check.
