Wonder

Stream Of Consciousness

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

i wonder how i’ll be remembered, once my time is over

will the air you breathe feel heavy like the dew on fields of clover

will the sun cast only lonely shadows and its rays forfeit its warmth

will all that i loved find its way to you, or will it lessen in its worth

i wonder if the moon will miss our midnight rendezvous

or if it remembers early morning skies , as the sun came into view

i wonder if any part of me will linger beyond time

or if it simply fades away just looking for another rhyme

i wonder every day exactly what I’m chasing after

and when my days are done, did any of it really matter

Beautiful and a lot to ponder on with this one. Love the image.

Beautifully penned as always, Kelli. "heavy like the dew on fields of clover" is a very thoughtful simile. Then again, "thoughtful" is exactly what the poem is. Loved this one.
