Women Of Color

Queens

By Sheena GivensPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

If you haven’t noticed

Our glow is like the Sun

Let me tell ya

We are the ones

Bathed in honey

Dipped in gold

Hearts are solid

Our Minds Unfold

These wonder gifts

Some may say Treasure

More than just

A lustrous pleasure

We’re building Empires

And establishing our Homes

We keep up our heads

And prepare for the unknown

Schooling our children

The greatest of friends

Protecting our Sisters

Uplifting our Men

Honey I tell ya

There’s nothing we can’t do

Planting the seeds

Distributing the Fruit

Because We know

Our blessings

Will make their way through

It doesn’t matter

What anyone else has to do

Honey, I am telling you!

There’s no limit

To what women

Of color can do

Stacey did

Kamala did too

Carrying out the dreams

of

Breonna

And

Sandra B

We are the future

We are the bold

We have a story that

Can never be told

By any one other than

God himself

When you see us

Do you see yourself?

The burdens we’ve carried

The sacrifices too

The way we put aside our pain

To make things better for you

Black or Brown

Ups and downs

The strength to move mountains

And raise Dynasties

Yet

Beautiful enough

to bring

A King to his knees

Women of Color

Better Known As

Queens.
