Womanhood

By Mel

By 'Lissa StufflestreetPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Outside; Silent.

Everyone enjoys themselves;

enjoying the company of others

while they dance to some upbeat pop song.

Inside; He grabs at my waist.

His fist grips my throat; Hard.

His finger lingers against my lips;

his eyes scanning the exposed skin

of my body.

All I can hear; the sounds of my own screams.

The word; No. Over and over.

The only sentence I hear myself get out; Get off me.

A muted yell,

yet he doesn't listen.

He can't hear those words. All he hears;

in his own sick, twisted mind -

are words of encouragement;

the chanting of his own name,

from his best buddies,

as he tells them about this night;

the cheering of his father,

proud of his boy for taking what he wanted;

He's finally done it. He took her

womanhood;

And he's damn proud of it.
