Mountain tops tree tops grassroots and mud

What was that? Did you hear it?

My foot made a thud

Running and tripping over things when you call

What does it matter I love you above all

You piss me off and frustrate me

But still your the best

Couldn't think of anyone for which time

I'd rather invest

You gave me love, laughter, lineage and more

But also shopping trips, honey-do lists

And all kinds of chores

Sure sounds tempting having a place of my own

Leaving the seat up, college football leather chair

Like a throne

But as fate would have it I need my partner in crime

For birthday parties and parent meetings

Quirky conversations at mealtime

Doubt that I could be truly happy without my best friend

There wouldn't be any reason to pick up this ink pen

You see, when there was nothing and no one but dark days

She was the one that handed me this journal and showed me the way

I'm a recovering alcoholic so I have addictive tendencies

So why do I want this woman?

Its just the addict in me
