Ever sat in silence and wondered why God made you, distinctively you;
We are all the same but beautifully painted in different colors, shapes and sizes.
But what’s on the inside is what makes us unique through and through;
While some fail to see their true colors, walking through life dressed in many guises.
We journey through life trying to find that essence;
What resonates, what moves, inspires and energizes us.
What makes us whole, our exceptional parts, our coalescence;
How can we express ourselves to the world without being superfluous.
But why should we hold in those colors, just let them fly illustrious;
Don’t be too proud, remember your oneness and help others proclaim their own.
Share your love and kindness with the world and stay curious;
For you never know when you might add a color, venturing into the unknown.
I am a woman of many colors, though most may not shine bright;
I only share some with those close, in fear of what others might denounce.
For most days I am the color of the night;
But one day soon, to all, my colors I will announce.
But for now some days I may be a little grey with hints of brown;
While others I’m yellow and bright for all to see.
Make sure whatever your colors, don’t ever back down;
Shine true, shine strong, and always be you just as I will always be me.
