Woman, Dance

Woman, dance

While your husband is away

And your children

Are out to play

-

Dance as you cook

And as you clean

Hair spinning ‘round

Floating with dreams

-

For when the children are here

Your attention is theirs

They consume your thoughts

All your worries and cares

-

And when the husband is home

He demands devotion

Your body, your love

And sweetest emotion

-

But right now, woman

You are yours

So find this freedom

In your chores

-

While the oil in the pan

Is sizzling hot

And the water boils

Rolling in the pot

-

Under your apron

Make your dress swirl

Your feet upon the floor

Let them twirl

-

Woman, dance

Until your soul shines through

For in this moment

You belong to you
