Woman and Moon

They have similar monthly phases of wax and wane

That time of the month, an internal strife,

in a reproductive-age woman’s life.

The uterine lining, of blood must shed.

for the ejection, the muscle is contracted.

We have sensory nerves all over,

the pull and tug at muscle, is horror.

Hormonal changes, cutting off oxygen,

causes mild to intense pain.

Moods sour, cramps bother

For decades, the same agonies to endure.

It's the fate of a woman

it reminds of the moon.

Women have two hormonal phases:

follicular and luteal.

The follicular culminates in ovulation;

the luteal ends in periods.

Just like the moon—waxing and waning,

from full moon to the new beginning.

So, woman is much akin,

to the celestial moon.

We are all nature’s reflection,

let’s not push this fact to oblivion.
