I may never posses the magic that turns a beast into a prince

Or taste sweet kisses on my lips, as romantic music starts to swell

I have grown into who I was always meant to be, in-spite of everything

traveling through life’s bout’s of hell,

*

To clearly see

Love, you are not for me

*

Not in the ways of~merry fairytales or dreams

With knights on wild horses, slaying dragons just for me

But in the ways a mother knows exactly how to love a child

Teaching them with strength and grace then - watching them run, confident and wild

*

I may always be a wanderer - lost out here on my own

Releasing seeds that I have sown

Into winds balmy, calm and mild

Fanning these flames inside a child

love poems
