Wired Eyes

The Poem of Losing Someone to Something More Powerful

By Jenna StaudtPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Roses are colorful, coke is white. Your handsome green eyes, you say can see the light. Your head filled with hype. Your insides all anxious. You can't fall asleep, so you start counting space ships.

Your eyes feel so heavy, but yet their opened wide. You feel so good, but yet so wired. The clock ticks away, your money all goes to waste. All for what, an hour in a happy place? Your life feels so empty, your filled with shame, then you realize, you are playing a dangerous game.

28 years old, addicted to coke. Living at home with your parents, you feel like such a joke. Smoke fills your garage, and the straw continues to enter your nose, do you feel any different? Or just the same old?

Perfect girlfriend, who would have done it all. You pushed her to the side, to get more Adderall. Your nostrils became addicted, to that certain feel. Sadly you turned her into, the third wheel.

Your boss fires you, now your stuck. Then you say "This is just my luck." You lost it all, and now what do you do? I hope you wake up, so no one has to endure bad news about you.

The love you have in your life, is much more pure, then that great white.
