Winter Woodland Walk
Juvenile eagles in dogfight flight
Polar vortex cloudless sky
air crisp n dry
.
Northern breeze, three degrees
Giving this winter ways walk
a yeoman's try
Turning turtleneck over
covering ear exposure
highland walk almost over
.
Descending deeper
winds subside
blocked by tree lined hillside
.
Near the river
Canada geese
hunker down
on iceland sheets
Running water
channeling through ice
.
Vapor mist rising
Vapor mist blowing
counter current
river flowing
.
Kingfisher calling
Woodpecker pecking
Eagles soaring
Intermittent wind whips
Blowing branches free
of dusting snow
.
Snowflakes sparkle
in backdrop
of vibrant sky blue
.
Hovering bright
with sunshine light
much like the
eagles dogfight flight
.
