Winter's Cold Embrace

Longing for Sunlit Days

In winter's cold embrace, we sigh,

Longing for sunlit days gone by.

Frosty breath on bitter winds,

A season where darkness subtly rescinds.

Days grow short, nights stretch long,

A melancholy hush, in nature's song.

Barren branches against a gray sky,

Echoes of warmth, a distant cry.

Icy paths and slippery streets,

A cautious dance on frozen beats.

Chilling rains turn to biting sleet,

Winter's bite, so cold and fleet.

Shivering under layers piled high,

Yearning for summer's golden sigh.

Frozen landscapes, stark and bare,

A longing for the sun's warm glare.

Yet amidst the frost, a quiet grace,

A beauty found in winter's face.

Snowflakes fall, like whispers soft,

A fleeting glimpse of nature aloft.

Though we may grumble and complain,

Winter's cycle, its own refrain.

In its grip, a solemn embrace,

Yearning still for sunlit days.
