Winter

by Sam Harty

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished about a year ago 1 min read
Decorating for Christmas too early or.... too late?

Here is a poem for "Gunpowder: A Mikeydred November Dollar Prompt" challenge. It's short, don't blink.. lol Hope you enjoy it!!

It's winter now

the leaves have fallen

it's getting colder

the sun comes out

although a lot less bolder.

--

I walk outside

and I close my eyes

breathe in the smell

of the fireplace fires.

--

We barely had the turkey done

when the stores

hung their garland

saying Christmas had begun.

--

With a new year

just around the bend

I'm thinking of resolutions

like mini solutions

hoping to keep them

in the end.

It sums it up for me! It does feel like holidays are thrown at me and I am never ready, lol!

This was delightful! So many great holiday particulars woven throughout! Great thread of rhyme too!
