As the reflections shimmer
I sit in wonder
The flakes float almost frozen in their tracks
While a flurry of activity bursts into action out of focus
For a second I can see the storm
The calm ceases, my pulse rises, my sight is blurred
My eyes lose focus momentarily
As I adjust to the swirling whiteout
Slowly meandering, dancing flakes catch my attention
Until the haze of crystal wind steals me again
Round and round we go, until I’m making angels in the snow

Winter light illuminates
The wings in a celestial blue
So few hours, and so few faces daring to brave its disorienting mist
Those who high step into the cushioned landscape
Enjoy earth imperceptibly rising up to meet their face with her powdery sloping bosom
Barely feeling the biting cold
Dazzled by the iridescent sheen radiating from the top of every surface
K.B. Silver
This tries to capture the glory and wonder of going out to play on a snowy day. No matter your age most people are awed and inspired by the majesty of nature. The raw beauty, and that touch of danger that comes along with freezing temperatures, really remind us of the great fun there is to be found all around us in everyday life.
