The Frost...Sometimes It Makes the Blade Stick...

No defrosters

No space heaters

No acts of pyrotechnics

Can diffuse this chill

Jack Frost chuckles

as I trip over his icy traps

Old Man Winter leans on Jack's shoulder

and giggles as his winter wonderland

becomes my daaaaaaaaamnation

That miniscule crack between the thermal of my glove

and the elastic edge of my sleeve

Exposing the only fleck of penetrable flesh

Is the target of the wintry rain

these fabled winter mavens

bestow upon me

Now, all ties are broken

the alliance we shared is severed

Maybe due to your severity

Chuckle if you must, Mr. Frost

Giggle if you may,old man

That white world of wonder

Is fading away

nature poetry
