The Sun is playing mind games

Sometimes I think the weather still plays tricks on my depression.

I wake up on 30 degree mornings

and the Sun is shining so bright,

it's like God is telling me that there is no reason to

be in such a cloudy mood on such a Beautiful

day.

But then I walk outside and my fingers go numb,

and I am reminded that the beach sunburns and the trips to

see the ocean and the feelings of salt and sand on my face aren't

quite here, yet.

So I get in my car and put on my fluffy earmuffs and my

black leather gloves,

those things being my weak armor to protect me

during the commute to a city that threatens to pull me under with its

harshness,

it is so unforgiving.

And I go on, waiting until that morning when the Sun will

finally

warm my face again.
