2024 Ellis Island Steward Medallion Winner Matthew Primous
I felt like Dr. King when he came onto the mountain
And he tore down the racism and hatred
And he spoke clearly and strongly against them
And he bravely won over violence and lies
And he stood till he could not stood any longer
I did not have to fight because he fought and they
fought and others fought and others died for us
And it is because of their dedication that we stand
And I am able to stand against hatred and I am
able to denounce bigotry and fight Anti-Semitism and
continue the fight for justice. Work as the youngest
Congressional Appointee, be promoted to Presidential
Partner, work as the First Black Trustee at Large of the National
Leadership Honor Society then be a UN Ambassador for Refugees
straight out of college and for life. And now winning the first Steward Medallion in 2024

Getting Serious About Comedy (Part I)
If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.
