International Fairy Day holds sway
A whimsical celebration
it does declare
Embracing enchantment
in the summer's air

Oh, magical creatures
so mystical and rare
Fairy folk with wings
that softly flare
Their essence entwined
with nature's art
They ignite the spark of joy
in every heart

From ancient tales
to modern lore
Fairy tales woven
in the fabric we adore
They dance on moonbeams
with grace untold
Creating a world
where imaginations unfold
~
In dappled meadows, glades
Fairy wings flutter
like petals cascade
Their laughter tinkles
like a babbling brook
As they cast their spells
in every nook
~
With a touch of stardust
they sprinkle delight
Granting wishes
on this special night
Their gentle whispers
a lullaby's song
Guiding us to a place
where we belong
~
For children
their dreams take flight
As fairies paint
the canvas of the night
But even grown-ups
with hearts grown old
Feel the magic
these beings unfold
~
On International Fairy Day
let us all believe
In the wonders they bring
and the joy they conceive
Embrace the enchantment
let imaginations be free
For in the realm of fairies
we find eternal glee

If I were asked to remark on my life and the childhood that paved some road leading me to this point, I would have to say something about all the funny people who surrounded me for the last 26,872 days (and counting). Somewhere along that road, I became a big fan of laughter and the comedy that spawns it – and, I mean not only my own laughter, but the laughter of others, some of which I have actually been responsible for inducing.
