Bidding War

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago 1 min read

the promise of forever, shattered

scattered casualties of war

abandoning what mattered most

left and broken on the floor

the queen of hearts, assured, bid high

the king had planned, bid low

too soon the lonely of goodbye

though neither wanted to let go

the joker, with an ace in sleeve

a force waiting to be shown

they all, just broken shards of me

gathered and assembled from the floor

mixed and matched emotions

tattered sense of what will be

a crewless ship upon life's ocean

a vessel tossed out on the sea

longing for a love that might have been

on the distant peaks of Windemere

a tattoo penetrated on my skin

for a love that never disappears

Truth but sad, love can sting deep without remorse, nice writing my friend 😊😊

Another story of life and relationships with others and even yourself. Good work.
