Wind & Willows

A poem to honor tranquility

By Anais ParksPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

When my hair is down

a stroll about

may be more than just fresh air

I see the trees,

the leaves move sweetly

to the beat of life

I feel the sun as it greets me

everything illuminated

to my humble eyes

brought to life when I see it

how brilliant it all is,

such a brilliance would shatter diamonds

so I'm smitten with the scenery

Strands of my hair bounce on the wind

and dance,

I find comfort in how it shows me

I can feel beyond my finger tips

to find something calling me

something magnetic

For the breeze carries my spirit away

far to fields of grassy greenery

freedom to run, run, as far as I please

freedom to laugh as the wind

whispers a story in my ears

as it always has

like a melody I do not hear

instead I feel flutter in my chest

my mind at peace, i know for sure,

I've never felt more alive

never felt more at home

than alone with the wind & willows.
