Tell me, is liberty a gilded lie?
Humankind has long loved doling out chains.
Even so, Man still looks up to the sky,
Pretends that his own brother, he’s not slain.
/
Humankind has long lived doling out chains,
Man wielded stones, knives, and guns, to this day,
Pretends that his own brother, he’s not slain,
Yet both the whippers and the whipped do pray.
/
Man wielded stones, knives, and guns to this day,
Brutal violence is the only constant,
Yet both the whippers and the whipped do pray,
Those blood-soaked men, those pretending gallants.
/
Brutal violence is the only constant.
Even so, Man still looks up at the sky;
Those blood-soaked men, those pretending gallants,
Tell me, is liberty a gilded lie?

Powerful! I enjoyed the symmetry, structure and the briefness of the Poem. The repeating language is most impactful.
