Wildfire

And What it Cannot Touch

I hear the groaning and gnashing of bark

The grave consequence of a single spark

- - -

All that was green now lies in ruin

Lost in ash that we are consuming

- - -

Fire, ruthless master of havoc

The thief steals and never gives back

- - -

Dark smoke chokes out the blue sky

And calls the blood red moonlight

- - -

Every wide trodden path

Returns to the flame’s wrath

- - -

The vast wildfire burns

Everywhere you turn

- - -

Shall we stand tall?

Until we fall?

- - -

Though the flames

Eat our frame

- - -

Our seed

Will breath

- - -

Grow

Sow
