Wilderness nightmare

Wilderness nightmare

inside the pale blue wild, I saw the grieving light of the stars behind the clouds

The luminosity that pulls us closer to heaven

The light that sinks into my soul like a light house, blinking at the piercing flame of eternity

Moon-Milk-Eyes, divine beauty and sacrifice

Staring with ocean eyes as big as Mars;

A pale blue wilderness nightmare

Awaits the mortal that dares to take her on,

Especially when the pale blue yonder has steeped into the world like the sun’s natural tea

So daringly brutal

So brutally beautiful

The death as luminous as life

The love as infinite as fear

Moon-Milk-Eyes, did you really want to say goodbye?

The palette of paleness creeps into my head, bleeding out dancing stars that sing praises

I linger in deep Hades, I cry alongside Orpheus

You can’t look back,

Yet you can’t look away.

This was so incredible! I had to read it, read it out loud, and read it again to take it all in—brilliant work! I especially loved the emotional hit of that Orpheus line.

Well-wrought! Would you care to elucidate the concept of Moon-Milk-Eyes? I believe I've seen you use that phrase or name in other poems, though I could be wrong.

  • So many beautiful lines in here I love this
